Our Workshops
We design and teach stages and workshops of building
and manipulation of any puppetry techniques (glove,
marotte, muppet, rod, table top, shadow, object, string,
etc.), with the duration and level desired, according to the
participant’s age and the objectives to be achieved.
And we will teach them anywhere: Cultural, Educational, Social
Centers, etc.
WORKSHOP INTRODUCTION TO THE MARIONETTE
It can be done in a classroom, auditorium, gymnasium, theater
or similar space, with a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30
pupils from 6 years old.
This stage of one hour includes:
1.- The play of an action for about 10' with a string-puppet
of the show SOLOIST
(introduction with marionette).
2.- The explanation of the anatomical constitution of the
marionettes, with a nude puppet, doing particular attention on
joints and where the strings goes on puppet and control and
why, demonstrating each point with a slow manipulation, to let
appreciate the simultaneous movement of the puppet and its
control in our hands.
3.- Eventually, with two puppets, the used at the beginning
plus another of similar, also with short strings to size of
the pupils, they play a brief action with, making them
walking, sitting and greets alternatively. So their test and
learn to manipulate them.
WORKSHOP BUILDING A STICK PUPPET
It can be done in a classroom, auditorium, gymnasium, theater
or similar space, with a maximum of 25 pupils from 6 years
old.
This stage of between 45 minutes and 1 hour includes:
1.- Each pupil receives an envelope with a "kit" with all the
necessary elements for the assembly of the figure.
2.- Sitting around a table, they open the envelope and we
explain how to assemble the puppet step by step.
3.- Once assembled it, they have a stickers for to do the
characterization of eyes, mouth, etc.
4.- As they finished the construction we give them
instructions to hold and move it.
5.- Optionally, depending on the time remaining, the puppet in
the hands of the participants will dance a simple version of
the traditional dance of the Catalan glove puppets "The
Tururut Dance".
WORKSHOP "MAESTRA MARIONETTA" (marionette and object on stage)
It can be done in a classroom, auditorium, gymnasium, theater
or similar space, with a maximum of 15 pupils from 18 years
old.
The stage has a total duration of 20-24 hours in 4-5 days.
AIMS:
First, demonstrate to the pupils the puppet and object
theaters from a perspective, far from the simplistic and
reductive image for distorted and stereotyped, which usually
receives this scenic modality. Helping them to discover or
recognize other ways and possibilities in the field of
theatrical expression. Secondly, with a phase of training and
practice on stage, the pupils acquire new tools and resources
about object animation that can be of interest and application
to other forms of Dramatic and Performative Arts.
